Tampermonkey is the free browser extension that runs Canvas Pilot. Install it first — it takes a few seconds.
Install Tampermonkey ↗Grab the script — it's free to download. You'll activate it with your license key inside the tool (see Step 4 below).
Download Canvas PilotOptional one-click launcher — sets up Canvas Pilot for you, no extension to install by hand. The browser script above is still the main way to run it.
Five short steps — about two minutes start to finish.
Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera need developer mode on for Tampermonkey to run scripts. You only do this once.
chrome://extensions or edge://extensionsWith Tampermonkey installed, click Download Canvas Pilot above — Tampermonkey opens its install screen automatically. Click Install and you're done.
Only see raw code? Use the manual route: Tampermonkey icon → Dashboard → Utilities tab → Import from file → pick the downloaded canvas-pilot.user.js.
Open any Canvas course page — the Canvas Pilot panel mounts in the bottom-right corner. Open Settings (the gear icon), paste your key into the License field, and it flips to Activated.
Head to your course page. If the panel doesn't appear, refresh the tab once — Tampermonkey only injects on fresh loads. Works on every Canvas school, including custom URLs like learn.yourschool.edu.
Your key was emailed to you at checkout. It looks like CH-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
On any Canvas course page, the panel sits in the bottom-right corner. Click the gear / Settings icon in its header.
In Settings, paste your key into the License field. It shows masked (CH-••••-••••-••••).
